Favourite piece of Pre-Raphaelite

This gorgeously pretty and poignant piece of art ‘Ophelia’ by John Everett Millais has so much meaning behind it – so atmospheric.  This link will take you to a very interesting article about the piece by ‘artnetnews’ – thank you.

For me this painting has all the elements I love to see, as there is so much detail given to the flowers both on the bank and draping her beautiful feminine dress.

Something personal to me is that the foreground bull-rushes have significance to my deceased father, who thought they looked lovely in a vase behind our TV when I was a child.
